Progress Over Perfection: How I'm Moving Forward Anyway
There’s a weird moment on any journey when the newness wears off... and the hard middle sets in.
I hit that this week.
You know — when you realize you’re still 30 walks away from your birthday, still trying to celebrate tiny wins, and still not a size 6 overnight.
(Spoiler: I’m not aiming for that anyway.)
And that's when the real work begins:
Choosing progress over perfection.
This season, I’m learning that progress doesn’t always look glamorous.
Sometimes it looks like:
Taking a walk even when you don’t want to
Celebrating a water bottle instead of a frappuccino
Calling "putting on real pants" a victory
The win is in the showing up. Not the shiny finish line.
This is about Physical Activity, yes, but it’s also about Self-Confidence and Emotional Well-Being. The real wellness journey happens in the messy middle.
Mini Mindset Reset:
3 Tiny Ways to Celebrate Progress:
Write down one thing you’re proud of every night (even if it’s tiny!)
Choose a “small step” reward (like 10 extra minutes to yourself)
Make something easier: use a tool that simplifies your day. (I’ve been obsessed with my Pampered Chef Microwave Egg Cooker lately — breakfast in a minute = tiny win!)
