Tiny Steps, Big Shifts: Why Small Wins Are a Big Deal
When you’re trying to get healthier, happier, or just feel a little more human again, it’s easy to think the big, flashy changes are the ones that matter.
You know — the “I’m going to lose 50 pounds by summer!” declarations or “I’ll never eat another carb!” kind of promises.
But what if the real magic wasn’t in the big leaps... but in the tiny, almost invisible steps?
This idea has been on my heart a lot lately.
Especially as I kicked off a very real, very imperfect project: 30 Days of Ta-Das and Walking into 51.
(Not a fancy challenge. Not a streak app. Just me, Sloan, and some cozy sneakers.)
Each day, I’m not chasing perfection — I’m chasing showing up.
One cozy walk.
One small "ta-da" moment.
One choice to honor my health, even if it's just drinking another glass of water.
And let me tell you — it's HARD sometimes.
Our brains are wired to crave BIG rewards. It’s why crash diets and boot camps sell so well.
But science shows that celebrating small wins actually rewires your brain for success.
Every tiny ta-da releases dopamine — a little “feel good” signal that says: "Hey, you're doing something right. Keep going."
Tiny wins retrain your brain to trust yourself again.
It doesn’t have to be perfect. It doesn’t have to be Instagram-worthy.
It just has to be real.
This isn’t just about exercise or body goals — it’s about nourishing your Joy, Creativity, and Spirituality too.
Showing up for yourself counts, even if the step feels small.
Today: List three tiny ta-das you accomplish — no matter how silly they feel. (Walked to the mailbox? Drank water before coffee? Ta-da!) Feel free to share them in the comments so we can celebrate with you!
BTW… I’m celebrating messy, cozy, real-life wellness with Sloan over on TikTok. Come join us and share your ta-das too!
